The Verdict

Synopsis

“The Verdict” follows four key players in the independence movement in the key days leading up to and just after the verdict. We watch how they react, how they feel and how they think: from institutions, parties, lawyers, relatives, citizens, and those already prosecuted. We gain exclusive access to offices, demonstrations, car journeys and meetings to follow how these historic events are playing out. Mobilized streets are raging. Situated at El Prat airport, our team captures the tensest of moments. Thousands of citizens block access to and from the airport. Representatives from Tsunami Democracy take advantage of this mass mobilization to get their message heard.

“The Verdict” presents a vivid portrait of a historical movement. Each day the protests become more intense, riots and police confrontations are more strained, and more and more flames line the streets. At the same time, peaceful marches head towards Barcelona on the day of the general strike. Quim Torra appears before Parliament. 30 Minuts captures the reactions and protests of this significant day.
